1 Nephi 3:8

8 And it came to pass that when my father had heard these words he was exceedingly glad, for he knew that I had been blessed of the Lord.

One of the most gratifying feelings as a parent is to see that your children value the same things that you do. This verse is Lehi’s response to what Nephi said. He knows from Nephi’s answer to this call to retrieve the brass plates that Nephi has been converted. I feel the same way when I see my children’s testimonies grow. I, too, am “exceedingly glad” to witness that conviction in my children.
