3 And said unto me: Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
As the Lord’s servant, Israel’s mission or stewardship is to
bring people to Him. This is how God is glorified. His work and His glory is to
“bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1: 39). As
servants, Israel (including those of us who have been baptized today) covenants
to make God’s work and glory their mission. In fact, D&C 4: 5 says that one
of the qualifications of being called to the work is “an eye single to the
glory of God.” We (Israel) are the hands that make the glory of God possible
here on earth.
