2 And it came to pass that while my father tarried in the wilderness he spake unto us, saying: Behold, I have dreamed a dream; or, in other words, I have seen a vision.
Clearly the Lord reveals things to His children through dreams. This is not the only way He talks to us, but it is one way. There are some people who say that whatever you dream in dreams is true. However, there are a few references in the scriptures that talk about false dreams or visions. How do we know the difference? By the power of the Holy Ghost. Obviously Lehi could tell the difference. He was a prophet. He knew he was a visionary man, and by now I’m sure he was used to receiving revelation. It takes practice, I think.
