6 And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do.Sometimes we have to take these leaps of faith where all we know is that we’re doing what the Lord wants us to do. We can’t always know why He has us do certain things or go certain places. The important thing is that we allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit. This goes for callings in the Church as well as other, more mundane activities as well.

There was a comment in Gospel Doctrine a couple of weeks ago that was something like we are not all asked to go with out knowing ANYTHING where we are going. they were talking about the missionaries that would just go until the Lord told them to stop. Or they would be in an area doing well and be told to leave because the Lord needed them to be someplace else. However I think that it is more common then people think. Maybe not so dramitic, but like you said dad, in callings we often don't know what we should do until we get to a certain crossroads, and then we are inspired to say or do something for those we have stuwardship over.
